I’m about to have a meltdown and shouldn’t be. I should be happy, really.
My anthology got accepted, but they have some terms I’m not to thrilled about. Well, actually just one. They want me to change the title. NOOOOOOOOOO!
The title suits it perfectly. The one they want me to use involves magic and my work is not, “magical.” Nope, wasn’t gifted with that bug. Dark? Yes. Supernatural? Yes. Scary? Depends on who you ask. But, NOT magical. I don’t do the frilly magic.
Other than that, I’m pretty happy. But, that one detail. I’m not accepting it unless they allow me that, I don’t think. I don’t mean to be obstinate, really I don’t. But, it’s been accepted at a previous publisher who met with a halt in production. All of my sample covers, promotional materials, etc., all involves that title. Well, I am a little partial to it, I’ll admit.
Well, since I just got the letter, that’s about it. I am so confused. Don’t know why. Acceptance always befuddles me. Night all. Over and out. May all your tales….
