A Note from Laura:
I’ve been writing for most of my life — not because I had time for it, but because I had to.
I’m a caregiver, a mother, and a partner. I navigate daily life with a husband who has congestive heart failure and a son who is partially-independent and autistic. Some days are quiet. Some aren’t. But through it all, I write.
The work on this site — the books, the lyrics, the music — wasn’t made in perfect conditions. It was made in real ones. Written in the margins. Finished late at night or early in the morning. Created between doctor visits, meltdowns, breakthroughs, and the mess of being human.
I don’t write from a pedestal. I write from the middle of it all.
